Lusha celebrates Women’s Month with media students

Lusha Initiative Platform a Non Profit Organization in collaboration with Constitution Hill held a conference, for young women who are currently studying Journalism and other media studies.

The purpose for this was to unpack opportunities and other roles women can take part in the Media industry, and also for those who would like to become entrepreneurs in the media space. The conference also touched on the role of the constitution in South Africa towards freedom of speech and expression.

Founder of Lusha Initiative Platfom, Sipho Sibisi said, “I felt the need to address this because of how women are being mistreated in the media industry and also to try and empower young women.”

“So I wanted to unpack their role in the media fraternity and also opportunities they can get to on the business side of it,” Sibisi told Afri411.

Sibisi said after seeing the success of the event and the hunger for knowledge from the students, he has decided to turn this event into an annual gathering.

“This initiative will take place annually. It will not focus only on media studies but entrepreneurship generally,” he said.
